What is the difference between proofreading and editing?
Proofreading corrects surface errors in a finished draft: spelling, grammar, punctuation and consistency. Editing goes further and improves clarity, flow, word choice and academic style. Our guide to copy editing vs proofreading explains which one your document needs.
Is it allowed to use an editing service for my thesis?
Most universities allow editing and proofreading as long as the ideas, research and writing are your own. Some set limits or ask you to tell your supervisor. Check your institution’s policy first. Our academic integrity policy explains what we do and never do.
