Ordering and quotes ¶
How do I get a quote?
Send your file and a short brief through the quote form, or email contact@copperplate.cc. Tell us the service, your field, the style guide and your deadline. We reply with a quote and delivery date, and nothing starts until you confirm.
How much does academic editing cost?
The price depends on the length of your document, the level of editing and the turnaround you choose. See the pricing page for how quotes are worked out, or request a quote for an exact figure.
Can I contact you on WhatsApp?
Yes. You can message us on WhatsApp at +44 7988 516464 with a quick question. For quotes, the form or email is best because you can attach your file.
Which file formats do you accept?
Word (.docx) is ideal because it supports Track Changes. If your file is in another format, such as LaTeX or Google Docs, mention it when you request a quote and we will confirm how we can work with it.
Editing and proofreading ¶
What is the difference between proofreading and editing?
Proofreading corrects surface errors in spelling, grammar, punctuation and consistency. Editing goes further, improving clarity, flow, word choice and the logic between sentences and paragraphs. Our guide to copy editing vs proofreading explains the difference in detail.
How will I see the changes?
Edits come back in Track Changes, with margin comments that explain the reasoning behind substantive changes. You accept or reject each change, so the final text stays your decision.
Will my editor know my field?
Yes. Your editor is matched to your discipline, so your terminology, methods and conventions are read by someone familiar with them.
How fast can you return my document?
Turnaround options run from 24 hours to 7 days, depending on length. Tell us your deadline when you request a quote and we will confirm what is possible.
Statistics and analysis ¶
Can you run my statistical analysis?
We work as consultants. We help you choose suitable tests, run and check analyses with you in SPSS, Stata or R, and explain the output so you can report and defend it. See statistics help for details.
What should I send for a statistics project?
Send your data file, a codebook or variable list, your research questions or hypotheses, and any guidance from your supervisor about the methods expected.
Can you help with my statistics homework or exam?
No. We do not complete graded homework, assignments or exams. We do offer tutoring that helps you learn the methods yourself.
Confidentiality and data ¶
Is my work kept confidential?
Yes. Your files are used only for your project and are not shared outside the people working on it. An NDA is available on request.
Can you delete my files?
Yes. Ask us at any time and we will delete your files. Our privacy policy explains what data we hold and why.
Do you use my manuscript for anything else?
No. We do not publish, sell or reuse client manuscripts or data.
Payment, revisions and follow-up ¶
When do I pay?
Payment terms and accepted methods are confirmed with your quote before any work begins. The terms of service explain how quotes and payment work.
Can I ask questions after delivery?
Yes. You can ask your editor follow-up questions about their comments after delivery. If a change is unclear, just ask.
What if I am not happy with the edit?
Tell us what concerns you and point to the passages involved. We will review the work against the agreed scope and put right anything that falls short of it.
Can I cancel an order?
Yes. The terms of service explain how cancellations are handled depending on whether work has started.
Academic integrity ¶
Is using an editing service allowed by my university?
Many universities allow proofreading and editing help, often with limits. Check your institution's policy and tell your supervisor before you send an assessed piece of work.
Will you write my essay or dissertation?
No. You keep full authorship. We edit, explain, analyze and coach, and we never write work for you to submit as your own. Our academic integrity policy explains where we draw the line.
Can you limit the edit to language only?
Yes. If your rules allow only spelling, grammar and punctuation corrections, tell us and we will keep the edit within those limits.
