Sample edit — Law

This dissertation examines whether the Online Safety Act 2023 adequately protects children from harmful content. It argues that the Act's duty-of-care model works only where Ofcom's codes set measurable standards. Chapter 2 sets out the legal framework, and Chapter 3 compares enforcement data from the Act's first two years.

What dissertation help from Copperplate includes

Dissertation help at Copperplate means one-to-one coaching and written feedback from an experienced academic in your field. We help you choose and narrow a topic, plan your proposal and chapters, respond to your supervisor's comments and prepare for your viva or defense. You write every word; we ask questions, comment and explain.

Think of it as thesis writing support that sits alongside your supervisor. Your supervisor stays the authority on your project. We give you more time with someone who can read a draft closely, show you where an argument loses its thread and talk through options until you can decide for yourself.

Students usually come to us at one of a few points: the topic is too broad, the proposal keeps coming back with the same comments, a chapter has stalled, or the supervisor's feedback is hard to interpret. Each of these has a clear next step, and finding it is what our sessions are for.

Support at every dissertation stage

The most useful session is often the earliest. A narrow, answerable question saves months later.

You can book help for a single stage or work with the same adviser across the whole project.

Thesis statement help: shaping your central argument

Many people searching for thesis help are really stuck on one sentence: the claim the whole project defends. A good thesis statement is specific, arguable and answerable with the evidence you can realistically collect.

Weak

This thesis looks at social media and mental health in young people.

Stronger

Among UK undergraduates, passive scrolling, rather than total screen time, predicts higher self-reported loneliness.

We work through drafts with you using questions. What would someone who disagrees say? Which chapter supports each part of the claim? How will your method show it? Supporting a thesis statement means each chapter carries one piece of the argument, so we also map your outline against the claim. Our guide on how to write a thesis statement covers the method in detail.

How coaching and chapter feedback work

  1. Tell us where you are. Send your stage, field, deadline, any draft and your program's handbook through the quote form.
  2. Meet your adviser. We match you with an academic in your discipline who confirms the plan and what each session or review will cover.
  3. Work in sessions or by written review. Video sessions suit topic and structure decisions. Written feedback suits chapters, returned with Track Changes and margin comments that explain the reasoning.
  4. Revise in your own words. Comments point to problems and options. You make the changes.
  5. Ask follow-up questions. After each review you can ask your adviser about any comment.

Written reviews are returned in 24 hours to 7 days depending on length. Costs are explained on our pricing page.

Advisers in your field, including law dissertation help

Dissertation advice only helps if it fits your discipline's norms. We match you with an adviser who knows your field's methods and expectations.

  • Law: doctrinal, comparative and socio-legal designs, framing a legal problem, OSCOLA or Bluebook citation conventions.
  • Social sciences and education: qualitative, quantitative and mixed methods, sampling, ethics and positionality.
  • Health and life sciences: study design, reporting guidelines and results chapters.
  • Business and economics: case study and survey designs, secondary data and models.

If your methods chapter is the sticking point, our methodology section examples show how others justify their choices. Our PhD thesis structure guide sets out typical chapters and lengths.

What we will not do, and why

We will not write your dissertation, a chapter, a section or a paragraph for you to submit. We will not invent data, results or sources. Every adviser works to this rule, and it protects you as much as us: a dissertation is a test of your own thinking, and examiners expect you to defend every sentence at a viva or defense.

What we do is the kind of help a generous senior colleague might give: questions, explanations, written feedback and practice. Universities differ in what outside support they allow, and some ask you to declare it. Please check your institution's rules and talk to your supervisor first. Our academic integrity policy sets out exactly how we work.

When your draft is complete and your program permits it, dissertation editing can polish language, consistency and formatting before submission.

FAQ

Questions about dissertation help & coaching

Can you help me write my thesis?

We help you write it yourself. That means coaching on your plan, questions that sharpen your argument, and detailed comments on drafts you send. We never write text for you to submit. This keeps the work yours and prepares you to defend it. Check your university's rules on outside support, and see our academic integrity page.

How do I get help choosing a dissertation topic?

Bring two or three rough ideas, even vague ones. In a session your adviser tests each against feasibility, available data or sources, ethics, time and your program's expectations. You leave with a shortlist and at least one focused research question to take to your supervisor.

Can you help with my thesis statement?

Yes. Send your current version and a short outline. Your adviser comments on whether the claim is specific, arguable and supported by your planned chapters, and asks questions that help you revise it. The final wording is yours. If your thesis statement is part of an essay rather than a dissertation, the same approach applies.

Can you help me understand my supervisor's feedback?

Yes, and this is one of the most common requests. Send the comments and the draft. Your adviser helps you work out what each comment is asking for, which ones need a structural change and which are minor, and how to plan a response you can discuss with your supervisor.

Do you help with viva or dissertation defense preparation?

Yes. Your adviser reads your thesis, prepares likely examiner questions about your contribution, methods and limitations, and runs a mock viva by video. You get feedback on how clearly you explain and defend your choices. Many candidates book one session a few weeks before the date and a second closer to it.

Do you offer law dissertation help?

Yes. Our law advisers support LLB, LLM and doctoral students with framing a legal problem, choosing between doctrinal, comparative and socio-legal approaches, structuring the argument and applying OSCOLA or Bluebook conventions. They comment on your drafts and coach you through revisions, and the analysis stays yours.

How much does dissertation help cost?

It depends on the stage, the number of sessions and the length of any drafts you send for written feedback. See our pricing page for how fees are set, or send your details through the quote form for a specific figure.
